Fruugo's Commitment to Australian Product Safety

Last updated: August 2026

Fruugo.com Ltd is proud to confirm that it has signed the Australian Product Safety Pledge established by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

As an online marketplace connecting consumers with independent sellers from across Australia and around the world, Fruugo offers access to millions of products. Whilst our merchants are legally responsible for the items they sell, we recognise our responsibility to protect consumers. We are committed to ensuring that products listed on the Fruugo platform comply with Australian safety standards and regulations.

To uphold our commitment under the Pledge, Fruugo operates a multi-layered approach, including the following actions:

  • Proactive Monitoring: Utilising a mixture of automated technology and manual human compliance sweeps to block unsafe, non-compliant, or recalled listings from the marketplace.

  • Regulatory Cooperation: Acting swiftly on receipt of official Notice and Takedown requests from the ACCC and Australian product safety regulators.

  • Recall Assistance: Supporting product recalls by facilitating direct notifications to consumers who have purchased affected products via our platform.

  • Seller Accountability: Enforcing platform terms and conditions by taking decisive action (including account suspension) against sellers who breach safety requirements.
